What's the talk about?

Love it or hate it, religion is now a significant player on the public stage. It is always cropping up in the news and affects many aspects of our life together. But is it a force for good or ill? Would we be better off if religion were just a private interest and didn’t stray into the public square – or does religion make a positive contribution to our society?

Andrew Bradstock is a visiting professor at the University of Winchester where he convenes the Centre for Theology and Religion in Public Life (TRiPL). His previous roles include heading up public issues for the United Reformed Church and academic positions in the UK and New Zealand. He is currently writing the official biography of Bishop David Sheppard (1929-2005).
